They were thinking out of the shoe box at the pop-up fashion show for The Style Box at the Spoke Club.
Local actor lovelies like Tara Spencer-Nairn, Amanda Brugel, Natalie Brown and Amy Lalonde trotted out their strappiest stilletos to wear on the red carpet. Brugel went for the covered-up closed-toe look to accent her naughty bride dress while  Katie Boland was in sensible black pumps due to a prior self-inflicted fashion injury involving a pair of killer heels. Brugel co-founded The Style Box with Gail McInnes to afford Canadian celebs runway-worthy duds and accessories for glittery events like the Toronto International Film Festival and the Geminis.

Booties call. The hot trend afoot is still the bootie, and it’s making the party scene in fierce fashion all trussed up and everywhere to go. Like the front row at Fashion Week.
Peep toes aren’t going away either. They’re at every level, from platforms to flats. Suzanne Boyd never met an open toed  stilletto she didn’t love.
The Great Gatsby look is huge in women’s wear for fall with oxfords and brogues happening all over the runways but T.O.’s men folk have been rocking their spats for ages, like they did at the cocktailer at the Carlu.
Then there are Elton John and Bill Clinton, who sported traditional lace-ups .”Elton and Bill got the shoe thing right. Now they just need a tailor to lose the schlumpy pants thing.”

LOVE held their Inaugural Gala at the  Eglinton Theatre Feb 22.09  hosted by Carla Collins , who, has her own special ” Carla Wood ” on April 1 .

The Gala, a fund and awareness raising evening  celebrated the stars ON the screen and local “Youth Stars !”
